The winning catch in the end zone in the last minute of the Super Bowl was made by none other than Plaxico Buress. You may recall that I called him a $%&(*&^% in one of my January posts. I didn't like Mr. Buress for awhile, and during the game, my son, Ted counted the number of times the Patriots defenders hit Buress hard.
Well, we know that he caught the pass easily, and Ted, my son, knowing that the game was over yelled "NOOOOOO!" and started keening and sobbing.
Then I saw something amazing in Plaxico Buress. Instead, of jumping around and gloating, jumping around and taunting the sidelines (as the jerk did against the Packers) this is what Plaxico Buress did: he knelt down & cried.
He didn't gloat when interviewed in the newspapers. He cried in the locker room too. So, seeing all this and reading it in the paper, I have changed my mind about Mr. Buress. He is human, after all. Then there's a more compelling reason:
one of the more important axioms in the Western World: it's hard to criticize success!!

Ahhhhhh...it's WONDERFUL to be able to win humbly and to be able to lose graciously. ;-D
