I don't want to "toot my own horn" or boast, but I still wanted to share a special moment I had last night, that put a smile on my face.
We have a classic rock station in Chicago, 97.1 "THE DRIVE". On Thursday, they played nothing but LP album sides. It was really fun to listen to.
Anyway, I turned my car radio on. I heard a keyboard part, just a FEW seconds of it. I said to myself, "That's a Genesis song." There was no vocals, guitar part, just the keyboard. Lo and behold, in a minute, I heard Phil Collins vocals. I was pretty pleased that I could recognize a song with so little to go on. There may have been some skill involved but, then again, maybe it was a matter of luck, dumb luck. It still made me pretty happy.
The song is not one I can remember but it was from the album Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, and the song was on the same side as the title track. It's too bad that I couldn't hear "Carpet Crawlers" as I absolutely LOVE that song, and that's on the same album but a different side of the double album.

This post reminds me of a close friend. She can recognize so many songs just by listening to a little bit of it (the part where it's unclear what kind of song it is) he he he...I can understand why you felt so happy, though. :-D
Btw, THANKS for your messages in my blog. I understand that it's impossible for me to remember all the faces of the people I've met through work, but it's just frustrating sometimes when I simply don't remember at all he he...
And when it comes to asking the questions - it's kinda hard 'coz there are times when I don't even have time to ask them what they meant with one word or a phrase (though I understood the gist or I could guess what the gist was about).
Other times I didn't even remember the word or phrase (though again I understood the gist) and they were already carrying on with the conversation - it's kinda hard to stop the flow 'coz there is usually NOT too much time to chat with customers, so again in the end it IS tough to ask. The only option is to remember the word or phrase (sometimes I can do this) and then check the meaning at home by using a dictionary or asking Arttu.
