The day after Andy (our 1st child) was born, I went to the hospital gift store, and lo & behold, I found the "Parents' Creed" and immediately bought it and it's been our refrigerator ever since. Here it is:
If a child lives with criticism,
he learns to condemn.
If a child lives with hostility,
he learns to fight.
If a child lives with ridicule,
he learns to be shy.
If a child lives with shame,
he learns to feel guilty.
If a child lives with tolerance,
he learns to be patient.
If a child lives with encouragement,
he learns confidence.
If a child lives with praise,
he learns to appreciate.
If a child lives with fairness,
he learns justice.
If a child lives with security,
he learns to have faith.
If a child lives with approval,
he learns to like himself.
If a child lives with
acceptance and friendship,
he learns to find Love in the world.

Hey, I'm HAPPY that Maribeth agreed to your proposal. Cheers to a new bed, but SORRY to hear about your strained chest muscles and the fact that the tests cost that much. Doh!!!
LOVE the creed. :-D
well, I spoke too soon. She thought again about all of her bills and decided we weren't going to get a new bed. Probably just as well there are still sooo many bills to pay that a bed would have put us back a little bit financially.
