Did anyone catch the irony on the Google ad that accompanies my blog? I write about theft and they advertise for insurance. I think that's kind of funny.
Apparently, there's a very ancient Chinese curse that says, "May you live in interesting times." Now, on the face of it, living during interesting times would seem good (who would want to live in "boring times"??).
But it really is a curse, because difficult circumstances (like a car theft and the bizaar events accompanying it) are very interesting, but still unfortunate.
You could probably think of a lot of instances where something very interesting happened to you, but it wasn't necessarily "a good thing".
